sentosa, slings, and flowers

we went to the beach on sentosa island a few days ago. really pretty spot! nice to relax on the beach, read, and chat with monica and kip. later that evening we went to raffles hotel to have a singapore sling. raffles is a famous, colonial-style building and it is where the singapore sling was invented! our friends paul and peyi pey (who we met at mount bromo in indonesia) met us that evening as well. after raffles, we all went to a spanish tapas restaurant for dinner. the food has been really good here in singapore.

the southernmost part of continental asia

raffles for singapore slings!

yesterday, we went to the botanic gardens. lots of pretty flowers.

    • well there are many variations now, but i believe the one at raffles is this recipe

      1 ml gin
      1/2 ml Heering® cherry liqueur
      4 ml pineapple juice
      1/2 ml lime juice
      1/4 ml Cointreau® orange liqueur
      1/4 ml benedictine herbal liqueur
      1 – 2 tsp grenadine syrup
      1 dash Angostura® bitters
